I’ve had a bit of a rough time as a nursing student but I don’t regret picking this career. School is almost done, and then I get to deal with poop and puke – for money!
Today i rubbed the back of a man with COPD who couldn’t catch his breath while we worked to calm his resp rate, held the hand of a man who had a sudden extreme breakthrough of pain until his diludid kicked in, sat and talked with a lady to calm her so she’d stop yanking out her clysis and falling out of bed, and reassured a woman who was taking her dying husband home for a few hours this afternoon. My job freaking rocks.
