Apparently Having a Dog Is Not Enough

August 11, 2009

I’m cleaning like a mad woman, getting ready for a huge baby shower I’m throwing for my brother and his wife.  Granny & Papa are coming Friday and even though she is really laid back, I like to make sure every house in the room looks decent because I am a freak.  I won’t ever fit in with this crew, I know.

I crouched down to look under Thomas’ bed and grab the few stray socks, Lego, whatever, and turn my head to find this, tucked at the very back of the shelf that holds his television:

At first I thought, ‘oh that little rascal left a cup of OJ in his room and it’s been there long enough to separate.’

Then I picked it up.

That’s not OJ. “Thomas!  What is this?”

“That’s my pet goldfishes, Mom.  Aren’t they cute?”

I’m not sure that what Pepperidge Farm had in mind.

Why yes, they are. I mean, at least the idea of him thinking his crackers could be pets is cute. How did he react when he realized he couldn’t keep them?

That’s so funny…my 4 year old have a “pet goldfish”,too! He found a popped orange balloon that he discovered (how? who knows…) that when he put it in water, looked like a fish. His little fishie’s bowl is a little easier to keep clean than the Pepperidge Farm kind :)

I know I’m a little late to the party, but am I the only one who immediately went to body parts? I was totally convinced it was fingers or something and he dug them up in the back yard and didn’t know they were fingers and you were going to go into how cleaning your house led to the police turning your back yard into a crime scene investigation. Man. I gotta stop watching TV.
