So I’ve been really freaking busy:
- creating a jump off site for my work because local people are asking about web design (yay!) and two more opportunities arose that were more professshhhional: Canada Moms Blog snagged me as a writer and also, BlogHer has me speaking at their conference in Chicago in July. Oh look, I’m using my real last name now, all grown up and stuff. Rani is my middle name, in case you were wondering.
- my niece turned 1 and we held the party here, therefore last week I had 45,877 workers in here fixing all the things the builder didn’t do before we closed on the house. There are 35 things left on the list but I hear that’s pretty damn good for a new build. Especially since I’ve read horror stories in dealing with Tarion & builders.
- If I don’t see a worker for the next week, I will not weep. Having them here meant I had to endure stories about their lives while trying to code websites and write a story for CMB. It’s not that I don’t care about these people, I’ve gotten to know them quite well and some of them are very sweet and kind. It’s just I needed quiet.
- I drove all the way to Bowmanville on Friday for a much-needed girl’s night at my cousin’s house. I got to see preggo cousin, and meet Assertagirl for the first time. Hopefully I didn’t scare her off. I’m pretty shy around new people even though I don’t show it and ohmygod she is so sweet and pretty. What a lovely lady, really. She’s renovating her kitchen – go say hi. Feel free to smash some tile while you’re over there.
- Girl’s night was a blast – we danced until 4 a.m. and some of us didn’t go to bed at all. I wussed out and crashed with my aunt in the master bedroom. I got up at 10 and drove home, only to start making food for yesterday’s party.
I have a million things to do this week so I’m outta here. I’ll try to read blogs but dudes. So busy.

Look at you, busy woman! Love the new site!
And I know how you feel about workers in the house – our house was a new build, and OMG the first week we were here, it was nothing but contractors in and out fixing various things. You have the patience of a saint.

Oh my goodness no, wasn’t scared off in the least, much the opposite, in fact. It was very lovely to meet you in person, finally!
